Adding voice over for my radio show

Hi, I am completely new to Audacity but can’t find the answer to my question anywhere - sorry if its been answered before.

I do a radio show and was hoping to mix the show together for 2 hours continuously on one track, and then do seperate “voice over” tracks that could be pasted on top of the main 2 hour music mix. I would need the volume of the main mix to go lower only at the points of the voice over, and return to its main level once the vocals have finished for that part of the mix.

I hope someone can help me, it sounds so easy to do but I have no idea how to do it! I hope I have made sense with my explanation too!

Thanks in advance,

Tony
