Clicking to starting a voice activated recording puts a short silence at the beginning. Is it a design feature?
How much silence?
Does it happen every time you speak; at every trigger segment? The usual complaint is the trigger leaves out the first tiny bit of sound. Does it do that, too.

Nothing like that. I click the record button and the cursor moves rightwards for a second, give or take. It stays there until there’s a sound input.
It’s not a problem.
I’m betting the act of starting the tool creates a disturbance which the tool thinks is Sound. And so it starts briefly.
There’s probably no way around that.
