I’m on Windows 10 with Audacity 2.3.3.
I’ve read the instructions for downloading ACX check repeatedly, and downloaded it more than once. I’ve opened and closed audacity in an attempt to refresh whatever it sees on my computer. When I go to the analyze menu to add the plug-in, it’s not there.
How do I get the plug-in from download to Audacity menu so I can add it?
Thanks
If you haven’t done so already - Analyze → Add/Remove Plug-ins, and enable ACX check.
It is possible to fake out ACX Check. It needs about 3/4 second of clean, pure background sound to measure noise. So no breathing, gasping, coughing, shuffling papers, or rearranging your seat. If it can’t find a place to get the reading, ACX Check will measure whatever it can get and can give you a stupid-high noise reading which may be completely false.
Let us know how it goes. There are tricks to passing ACX.

“If you haven’t done so already - Analyze → Add/Remove Plug-ins, and enable ACX check.” That’s not the issue, sorry.
As I said in my initial post, ACX check does not appear in the plug in add/remove menu. I can’t enable something that doesn’t appear there. How do I get it to appear in the add menu so I can enable it? I’ve downloaded it from the website but it does not appear in the add/remove menu, and that’s the question I’m asking: how do I get it from being downloaded to appearing on the add/remove list so I can enable it?
I figured it out. The download went to a temp folder. I dragged it from there to the audacity plugin folder. Then it appeared where it was supposed to so I could enable it on the analyze menu.
