actual time of recording

Hi,

I’m new to Audacity and basic recording in general. I’m using this to record my Biostatistics lectures. My professor goes so fast and the class is advanced that I fall behind. So I’m hoping recording will help.

When I playback my class recording is there anyway of overlaying the actual recording time? In my notes when I have a point that I would like to go back to I jot down the time. Otherwise I have to figure out how many minutes into the lecture that time actual is.

Just wondering is that feature is available/possible.

I would suggest marking points in the waveform with labels. You can put any text in the labels. If you do CTRL + B at any time after starting recording that puts a label at the start of the recording, assuming you don’t move the editing cursor from the start. You could type the start time in that label.
