A new recording track bug in 3.7?

Hi there and Happy Halloween,

with ver 3.7, I have a new issue:
I was recording a song, and as usual, I create multiple tracks for safety.
But all of a sudden, I create a new track (as you can see in the video), hit REC, and Audacity will not record in the new track, but decides to use track 1+2 (although I chosed “mono track”). I cannot explain it to myself. Can anybody help me out? Please remember: The problem was not there (as I can tell) before ver 3.7

You are aware you’re trying to record in stereo?
