Just bought a new laptop last week (Dell Inspiron) and downloaded Audacity 3.0. It detects my mic just fine but won’t record any audio from it. Only gives me a steady buzzing noise on the track. The microphone works perfectly fine with Skype and other programs. I have made sure Audacity isn’t locked out by the Privacy settings, as well as tried to various USB ports. Same results every time. Any ideas as to why this is happening? What can I do to fix this?
Never mind. I apparently hadn’t actually disabled my built-in mic, despite what I thought I had done. Problem solved.
