I just downloaded audacity 2.0.5 on my windows XP laptop. I selected the Audio file to do a simple shortening of redundant information, I select the tab to “EDIT” and yet all the option are gray, not black, and I cannot select any of the options? I went to the Help section, but it does not explain how to correct or prepare to edit. can someone explain to me very simply what are the exact steps to be able to edit. this is all new to me. thank you.
