Re: Annoying Gaps

Audacity generally under 30% and Activity Monitor generally under 2%. I don't know how to solve this, but the overall percentage doesn't tell the whole story... If some application, process, or driver, "hogs" the system for a few milliseconds too long, you get buffer overflow and a dropout/glitch. ...

Re: Bass LOW - DJ Recordings

This is starting to look like an iRig problem, but they are not cheap
Maybe not... Make sure both Windows and Audacity are configured for stereo.

But... That doesn't explain why streaming is working OK or the lack of bass...

Re: Isolating or Enhancing Voices from background chatter

At best, you can only make slight improvements. Standard noise reduction works best when you have a very-quiet and constant background noise... It works best when you don't really need it. If the noise is bad, The cure can be worse than the disease. :( You can run the Filter Curve effect with the Lo...

Re: Vinyl ripping and constant BPM

Where even though the tracks were initially in sync and playing at the same speed, I then noticed they moved off the sync. No noticeable tone shift. Two different turntables playing two identical records? Tracks are analysed with software before using and if I use dynamic it shows constant minor fl...

Re: Vinyl ripping and constant BPM

I ripped using a direct drive , rubber mat and weight. Unless there's something wrong your turntable it should be very stable. Re: What amp mic do you use?

The SM57 & SM58 are virtually the same except the 58 has the added ball vocal "pop" filter (which does slightly alter the sound). But my understanding is that you're not really supposed to use condensers on amps. Some pros do use condensers. The main reason for not using a condenser for a guitar amp...

Re: Is a headphone jack good enough for audio capture?

What does the user manual say about connections? That's probably not a headphone jack... Maybe it's not an audio jack at all? I would expect two (left & right) RCA connectors . Turntables need a preamp and when that turntable was made "stand alone" or "component" turntables didn't have any electroni...

Re: Open DSF with Audacity

Audacity normally uses a customized version of FFmpeg.

I found a link about using an alternate encoder (for exporting), but I don't know about using a different decoder (opening/importing).

Re: recording

Check your Recording and Playback Devices. (Windows is probably trying to play through the USB mic.)
