Re: Filter Curve Setting Issue

A good way to test EQ effects is to generate some "White noise" ("Generate menu > Noise") with an amplitude of say 0.5. You should see the waveform change when the filtering is applied, and can also see a change in the frequency domain if you use Track Spectrogram view (see: https://manual.audacityt...

Re: The Notch filter don't want to work !

So... anybody, can anyone try to clean this artifact @ 8476hz here using the "notch" filter ? : There's actually two frequencies The strongest one is at about 8480 Hz, and the other is at about 7880 Hz. I used the Notch filter with: Frequency = 8480 Q = 8 and then Frequency = 7880 Q = 8 Here's the ...

Re: Help Needed: Generate Audio Track : Automatically Increment Amplitude of Tone:

If an audio track is already selected, Audacity will use the ...

For some reason when I hit "OK" it's not making the adjustments...

Please try this: 1. Right click on the Audacity icon in the Dock and select "Options > Show in finder". 2. Right click on the Audacity icon in Finder and select "Get Info" 3. Take a screenshot of the "info" window ("Shift + Command + 4 + Spacebar") 4. Attach the screenshot to your reply (See: https:...

Re: Installation trouble: wxWidgets

Which version of Audacity do you want to build?
There have been big changes (simplifications) to the build process with the most recent Audacity code.

how can I generate noise (white is the main one but also others) only between two frequencies that I can specify (instead of the default 20-20KHz)?
That's called "band limited noise" rather than "white noise".

I did exactly what the directions read.
Please describe what you did. The symptoms that you describe suggest that Audacity is running directly from the DMG.

For "guaranteed" very high frequencies, I think we're back to the bat recording hobbyists (see my first reply, and Google for "bat recording" and similar)

Re: How to create and export track listing to long recording?

I really want one 2-hour recording, just as long as it has the track listing? Some apps support "chapter marks" that allow you to do that, but there is no "standard" way to do it that is widely supported. Most MP3 players support playlists (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U) which allow you to...
