Re: Audacity Freezes Up

Was the "Kill With A Smile" project originally created in Audacity 3.0.2, or in an earlier version of Audacity?

How important is that project? Is it the end of the world if we permanently delete it?

Re: Is Audacity Audio Editing Really Necessary For YouTube Lets Plays? If So, What Settings Should I Use?

First off, how important is editing the audio in Audacity? There's no reason to use Audacity rather than any other audio editor, other than: Audacity is relatively easy to use Audacity is capable of very high, professional quality work Audacity is free Audacity has great support ;) Audacity has com...

If the reported compression is in the single digits, then it's bonafide 24-bit. If on the other time it compressed 30% or more, it's definitely gimmicky.
That is not going to work if the audio has 24-bit dither applied.

the main issue save and create by build number d6d4860 OK, so that was a couple of days ago. "value": "Audacity failed to read from a file in <path>:.", Is that literally what it said, or have you replaced the actual path with "<path>" ? Can you provide exact steps that would allow me to reproduce ...

Perhaps someone more familiar with Windows can provide clear instructions for how to extract a ZIP archive on Windows.
Perhaps this will help: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-zip- ... windows-10
Scroll down the page to where it says: "Use the Extract All wizard"

Re: Unable to open AUP File Between PCs

How did you do that? Ah ... let me guess... this is a weird "Windows" thing where Windows makes it look like a ZIP file is extracted when it is really still inside the ZIP archive. Perhaps someone more familiar with Windows can provide clear instructions for how to extract a ZIP archive on Windows.

Re: Unable to open AUP File Between PCs

"Project is in a read only directory"

"C:\Users\Carly\Downloads\ToneTest.aup3\ToneTest.aup3"
What !?
Why is "ToneTest.aup3" inside "C:\Users\Carly\Downloads\ToneTest.aup3\"
How did you do that? :?

Re: Audacity Freezes Up

I close out and when I booted back in it is prompting me to recover the file, but it freezes up and I can't select any of the options. Force quit Audacity, reboot your computer, then launch Audacity again. You will see the "recover projects" dialog again. Click the "Skip" button. Does Audacity open...

but I've been informed that when uploaded to the website it makes you download the file to listen to it.
Who informed you of that?
Is this for your own website?

Re: file open fail in 3.0.3 by SqliteSampleBlock

If you look in "Help menu > About Audacity", then go to the "Build Information" tab, there's a "Commit Id" number (Example: "c8e0bf"). That number uniquely identifies the version, independently of when or where it was built. I can't look up the version from the number that you are supplying, but I c...
