Re: Optimal bit depth setting with Yeti mic?

When I import that same wav file I exported back into Audacity it shows the file is at 32 bit float. How is that possible if I changed it to 16 bit PCM when I exported it? By default, Audacity converts files to "32-bit float PCM" on import. This conversion is 100% lossless and it minimises quality ...

Re: Spectral Bandpass Filter Plugin

I didn't include one for "center" as it will never have a nil. That's not actually true, but it is true that "center-hz" will never be nil unless "bandwidth" is also nil. Here's an example of where both "center-hz" and "bandwidth" are both NIL: First Track000.png If you are happy Very happy :) thou...

Re: Allow configuring mouse wheel to scroll horizontally

But I also read in this thread, that I am apparently not the only one, who would like to have this flexibility, and one can read the reasoning about it in the thread. It is not about changing a feature, but rather about adding flexibility, because I (along with some others, apparently) am not perfe...

Re: Clipping

OK, so why have clip fix? ClipFix is an attempt to rescue clipped audio that would otherwise be trash. It works by looking for flat topped peaks and guessing what the missing waveform should be. The "guess" is a mathematical algorithm called "cubic interpolation", which in layman's terms means "rep...

Re: Completely freeze and no respond at all

When I try to save, the cursor changes "I", but then the whole site freezes and no response - cannot move anything. This is due to a bug in a Windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/you-might-have-issues-on-windows-10-version-20h2-and-windows-10-version-2004-when-using-some-micros...

Re: Allow configuring mouse wheel to scroll horizontally

and Audacity (Ctrl-wheel) Audacity uses (unmodified) mouse wheel scrolling for vertical scroll (like most other apps), hence the use of a modifier key ("Shift") for horizontal scrolling, (and "Ctrl + mouse wheel" for zoom). If you need to scroll a long way, you can drag the scroll bar below the tra...

Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech

Firstly, I don't use this plug-in myself, but I think the idea of the "isolate changes" feature is that you would run that on a duplicate copy of the track (or part of a track) so that you can see more easily what exactly the effect will remove when you apply it normally. You can make a duplicate co...

Re: Broken link

I've fixed up the page to what I think is correct. I'm not a Windows expert, so I've asked the Audacity developers if someone can take a look and check that the links are now correct. Support for Windows 7 is now becoming impossible as Microsoft are rapidly deleting Windows 7 updates from their down...
