the Blue Screen of Death
Most likely a problem with one or more device driver. Not much else can trigger a BSOD these days.

Re: How do I get started with contributing?

Yup that was straightforward! Cool 8-) If you pick any of the older bugs, or bugs rated as P3 or lower, then the chances are that you will have the bug to yourself. P1 and P2 bugs are probably being worked on already. P1 bugs MUST be fixed before a release, and P2 bugs are only allowed through at t...

Re: How to specify a list of timepoints for a plugin to operate on?

Debian Testing (bullseye) and Debian Sid both have Audacity 2.4.2. Audacity 2.4.2 will be new enough for this. I do not currently recommend Flatpak, Snap, or AppImage packages, as we are still receiving reports of problems with them. For the latest Audacity release, the best way to get it is to buil...

Re: How do I get started with contributing?

How would you describe your current level of experience with C++? Have you successfully built the current development source code? That's the bes...

Re: Audacity Running Really Slow

Audacity 3.0.3 is due to be released soon. It contains some bug fixes that "may" help with the slowness problem, but we can't be sure as we can't reproduce the problem. The 3.0.3 version does fix the problem with apostrophes in file names, though "best practice" is to avoid special characters in fil...

Re: Audacity Running Really Slow

I'm working on my 1st project and initially everything was working fine. But now Audacity is really slow - cut/paste, saving, deleting - takes several minutes every step. If I start a new project everything seems fine, but I don't want to just restart my project and redo the recording. Not sure wha...
