The USB PnP Audio Device is already selected for input, as indicated by the microphone icon beside ... sure to set Audacity's project rate to 48000 Hz (to match the USB device). Is this a "cassette audio capture" device? Lot's of Mac users have had problems with them -- Bill

Please look at the advice on this page.
If this is similar to other devices of it's ilk, it will show up in the Mac System Preferences / Sound / Input as a PnP Audio Device. You may need to insert a cassette and start it playing in order for it to show up.
