Inserting clips while song plays in background
... is fear itself" but I want the song to still play in the background and than come back to regular volume when the clip is over. Can someone help me with this? Thanks Brad

If your recording is half the track height and it sound a little dense and crunchy, then you're overloading the Mic-In connection of your laptop.

That may help in the short term. That's what I need - 3-4 minutes of playing. How full, fragmented, or slow is your hard drive? It's 298 GB Total/295 GB Free, unfragmented (Disk Defragmenter says that). Live audio (or video) production ...

Thanks for your help so far guys, everything is working fine now. All I want to know now is, how do I transfer the recorded music to Windows Media Player, so I can burn it to CD. ( I know how to do that. )

AFAIK there is no metadata in the .AU files to help. If you were using Audacity 1.2.x, the files that are created during recording are in numerical order. If using Audacity 1.3.x they are not, and the only thing left to help you is the time stamp, ...

How loud are you getting it? If your recorded wave is around half the track height, that's fine (close to ideal for recording). The track can always be made louder later by using the "Amplify" effect.
