Recording slightly low is actually a good thing because slightly low can easily be fixed. Slightly high can overload and cause crunchy, clicking, clipping damage. Yay. It works perfectly when I try to save to my home partition, and yes, the partition I originally tried was NTFS. I've never had problems with NTFS, so that's why this didn't come to my mind.

Hi Carol, For Windows Vista you should be using Audacity 1.3.12 - this may not help with your immediate problem, but it will avoid a lot of other problems (Audacity 1.2.6 is very old, has problems on modern systems, and is no longer maintained). http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows ...
