You might be able to leave some of those settings running to help get rid of the computer fan noise. It's not worth the additional complexity. Leave all those settings off and don't worry about it.

Yes, for the first ten seconds the audio is decent but I also get white noise. What do you mean not to use the built in speakers and microphone? I unchecked the audio options that the other thread mentioned. Hopefully this will help.

May not be able to help much. The recording quality is down to your sound card. Does the recording sound bad when you play back the recording in Audacity, or does it sound OK in Audacity and bad after you export it? Check your sound ...
