Thanks for the system info. Now it's time for one of the Windows XP users to chime in.
In the future you would probably get help faster if you post in the forum for your operating system and version of Audacity.

USB input?
I am trying to capture input from my USB port! The instructions say, go to preferences then on the device tab enable usb (Input) but there is no USB selection Just MME or Windows? Any help would be much appriciated, operating system win 7.

No Sound from Speakers
I am new to the forum. I have used Audacity for some time, but have just bought a new Turntable. I can no longer get any sound from the speakers when using Audacity. The sound appears to be arriving as the meters show imput.3

What should I do? You should provide more information. Exactly which version of Audacity (look in Help menu > About Audacity)? Which version of Windows? What are you trying to record from? Is your recording device enabled in the Windows Control Panel? What settings do you ...

I assume you downloaded and installed Audacity following:

Please start Audacity again, try to locate FFmpeg in Preferences then open Help > Show Log and copy and paste the contents into your reply.
