The original file was mono and wma. I did the import & export thing. How do I tell the bit size? Please help.

I recorded a lengthy audio file and when I stopped the recording and tried to save it all of the save options were hidden. I tried to play the file back and it won't playback either. This is a file I cannnot lose, any help would be great!

... i did in beginning was to rip them from cd disk, didnt do anything to them to make them a wav or maybe this mp3 thing..keep up with the hints and help and with others telling me things we may come to what works..thanks..
