One more thing that may help here: I am getting an 'internal error' message from MP3rocket. I wonder if that has something to do with the problem here?

... making the quieter sounds more louder. I don't see any tools that work based on volume, and Normalize makes *everything* quieter. That doesn't help, some sounds are too quiet while others, like when I mute my mic and it pops, are too loud. How can I fix this audio? Thank you!
