... the PC I can only think of Skype and itunes which might explicitly do things with sound files. Happy to un-install these if you think it might help.

Audio file not working

Thanks for the follow-up JP. I've moved the topic to the 1.3 part of the forum. I think that Variable Bit Rate #2 (170K to 210K) should give the same results as "Preset: Standard", and the result with stereo music should be very reasonable (a lot better than many MP3s available on the Inte...

I think it may be that I have deleted something in the background. I was moving the files from one computer to another, I reckon this may be the issue.
Really appreciate your helps and I'm just working on re-doing it again!

All of the signals in your equipment chain are somewhere around "Line" level. The Microphone input on your computer will be for "Microphone Level" signals (about 1000 x smaller than Line level), so attempting to "DI" (plug Directly In) your guitar equipment will massive...

... properly (both are animated and the levels approach 0 db). I've also made sure that the volume slider is up nearly as high as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated since without playback, Audacity is not really useable.
