Help! I can only record one stereo/mono audio track

Hello, I have a Pentium 4 2.0 processor with 512 of ram. The cpu is 5 -6 yrs old. I am using a Lexicon Lambda 4x4 for My I/O When attempting to record a 2cd audio track , the counter wont move and basically its frozen. normally i would just use the built in mic in my laptop, but when i do, the sound quality drops after a few seconds. Let's take that one first. You should be able to get rid of that by turning off Windows Special Services. Windows Enhanced Sound http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&...

Well first of all, you can almost certainly accomplish what you're trying to do through your mp3 player, by making a playlist. How do I delete what I don't want? I see the append record which will allow to start recording where I left off I'm uncertain how I erase the part I no longer want before appending.. Yes I'm using the beta 1.3 for mac. I appreciate the help.
