Bill -- are the Behringer mixer and mics widely available? I need to start recording on Tuesday or so, and probably couldn't wait to have them shipped. Are there specific Behringer mixers and mics you recommend?

... ION turntable. It took me only 5 minutes to discover that the problem was still there. When searching the forum I encountered your " cry for help" and started reading. To me it seemed that the experts were pointing to the USB connection all the time and I was using a Trust-hub :oops: ...

... Yeah, the hum starts when I am recording or monitoring in Audacity. I am using a desktop. I tried to switch speakers also, but it didn't help. I turned the gain all the way down on the turntable and that didn't help either.

... and I thought since I was using a usb and not a microphone, it wouldn't be the right setting. I selected also on channels (2 (stereo). Can you help me further? I will try again recording it with the recording device as the microphone (I think I tried it but I will again).

... it should be easy to batch convert them to other format using mplayer/mencoder. You should be able to find rpm packages of it for fedora. I can help you with the syntax if you have any trouble. after a few gasps, i managed to install mplayer/mencoder, but did not go that far in my trials to ...

... voice mails from my phone and eventually burn them but I'm unable to find the correct input option. I've read through many forum posts and help topics and the most useful ones mention something along the lines of "stereo input" or "stereo mixer" as a choice in the dropdown ...
