Just a quick update, I reset the stream format decoders in my Squeezebox Duet so that the SB wasn't doing the encoding locally and my god what a difference that has made to the SQ. ... is too quiet. Audacity is not the problem though (because the mic input is too quiet whether Audacity is open or not) but if you could still help, it would be much appreciated.
