... frequency signals are limited at a lower threshold than low freq signals and some of the generated higher harmonics get attenuated, this should help the sound. Have to try out, will come back after tests...

No, it can't.

You could try using sox. I can't help you with batch scripting in DOS, but have a look at this thread:

Why Not Recording On A Track I Added?

New to Audacity..

So, I clicked on Project-->New Audo Track and it added a track. Then when I hit record, it created a new track and started recording on that track! Why didn't it record on the track that I added?

My settings and speakers seem to be alright. Could you take a look at one of the files i'm having problems with?

You can tell it's a stereo track, it just doesn't want to open as one =(

... to do with lip sync, but you can do it that way, too. Place labels (Control-B or Command-B) at the sync points and measure the difference. I can't help thinking this would be much easier in a video editor. Figure out a sound sync point -- where the speaker moves his hand and then compare the late ...
