There is a manual included with Audacity 1.3.12 (Help menu) and lots of addition on-line documentation (see links below this post). Thanks i will try using a vinyl record i have not cleaned... Then i will follow your other suggestions..

I must admit i haven't been rinsing the vinyl after applying my cleaning mixture. But it looked so clean and i cannot see any dry bits in between the grooves....

Thanks for that Steve, Although I have set the sound card to Sterio It still wont work so must be a problem with the sound card. If I bought an USB sound card would that definatly work with Audacity (Providing it has stereo setting) ?
