No, it is not the same issue, I'm using a different amp all together.

I'm using windows 7 home basic. I have my guitar setup is this: guitar plugged into input of the amp, then the output of the amp is connected the the microphone jack of my computer using a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter.

Does anyone know of any software for real-time timbre analysis? I know of specialized programs created by individuals, but these are largely unattainable to the general public. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

... change the shape of the waveform or the "character" of the sound (unless you boost the volume and create more clipping!) This won't help with clipping or distortion, but for smoothing-out volume variations you can try the Leveler effect, the Compressor or "manual" volume ...

... cutting/copying and pasting regardless of where I place the cursor the audio is always pasted in at the beginning of the track. Canyone offer any help? Thanks. Audacity does not support multiple clips in the same track (no gaps between audio segment). That functionality is only available in Audacity
