Re: Automatic recovery help
Horus: Sorry, I'm out of ideas. I have no idea why Audacity can't recover the project when it has a valid autosave file and all the .au files are in the right place. If this was really a one-off never-to-be-repeated recording, then copy the e00 folder and the autosave file from the temp directory to...

recording only captures left channel; no stereo
... only the left channel records in the "stereo" interface; right remains flat-line. splitting into right & left also does not help. VU meter only shows left channel; nothing on right channel. things checked: -- Mac Prefs --> sound shows "use audio input: sound input" ...

Re: Automatic recovery help
Depending on how keen you are to continue with the process of saving this recording, you could make a copy of the temp files (the "e00" folder in the temp directory), so in case Audacity deletes them you could put them back and try again. Start Audacity directly - do not double-click or ot...

Re: Automatic recovery help
Right, all the .au files seem to be present (i.e. there are loads of them where you said they should be). Audacity is still open, and has been ever since it loaded up but had the silence throughout. What is the next course of action I should take do you think? Force Quit Audacity. If you close or q...

Re: playback it extremely quiet, please help me.
I'm using windows 7 home basic. I have my guitar setup is this: guitar plugged into input of the amp, then the output of the amp is connected the the microphone jack of my computer using a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. I would expect that to likely give you mono and/or too loud recording, unless you have (or...

Re: Automatic recovery help
I see that the temp directory is specified in the autosave file: /var/folders/VZ/VZAJKr8wEp8A3DR8I3Ishk+++TI/-Tmp-/audacity-kieran_callanan17/project443689312

Re: Automatic recovery help
Horus, sorry but I'm not familiar with the structure of an autosave file which is obviously different from a normal file. I believe it would be necessary to start Audacity and have it pop up the "recover files" dialog in order to recover the recording, as obviously it has to thread all tho...
