If you upgrade to Audacity 1.3 (highly recommended) there is a manual included (in the "Help" menu), and there's a lot of Tutorials and other Tips available on-line (see links below this post).

Yes, I'm using Audacity version 1.2.6
I downloaded Audacity 1.3 and tested all of the non working frequencies and now they all work. Thanks for help! Apparently on my old computer the version was probably 1.24 or 1.24b.

HELP! I just finished recording a podcast and I have an error message that says "Audacity.exe has stopped working" and it wants to close the program. I can't lose this podcast if at all possible. What can I do (if anything) to either save or recapture the recording I just made?
