For recording streaming Internet radio you should select "Stereo Mix" (as described here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel )

Updates didn't fix the problem so I reverted from 1.3.5-2 back to 1.3.4-1. The lines are now gone.

I'll live with this until I upgrade my OS in a month or two.

Ok, I found the problem, it was in "set up" so I have it recording but the station sounds like it's in a reverb chamber. What is causing that?

Set as default
Show disabled devices (checked)
Show disconnected devices (checked)

You wrote that you're putting a course together. Are there other students in that course? Can you ask them for help? Send out an email, let them know you're under the gun, b/c the interviews are in a matter of days. Are you a member of a house of worship, church, synagogue, temple? ...
