... understood. digital audio recorders don't produce good quality sound when used in your pocket. I suspect audacity has a few features I can use to help with that as well. thanks for the help Richard

... saying that you have Audacity Projects that do not open in Audacity 1.3.13, but do open in a previous version of Audacity? Look in Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity". What exactly does it say for the Audacity version? In particular, does is say "(Unicode)"?

newbie question about distortion problems

You've posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum, but I bet you're using a 1.3.x version of Audacity. Look in the Audacity "Help menu > About Audacity" for the exact version number. The latest (1.3.13) version of Audacity has improved connection control when used with Jack. ...

I'm not sure that we will be able to help much as this is more a question about Acid than it is about Audacity. You may be able to update the file in Acid by overwriting the original WAV file (assuming that it is a WAV file that you are using ...

Thanks for your help...I think I was opening Audacity before I put the Tascam in. I've still have some learning to do with this but should be okay.
