My volumes fades as I record long, sustained notes. HELP.

... but I once tried with a real one and it happened all the same. This is a pain, since I like using long-lasting sounds and reverb and stuff. Help plz, what could it be?

Probably solved it, but not sure

I rearranged things as you suggested and indeed the Help command in audacity now brings up both manuals. But I'm still not sure things are right because the help directory I listed in my previous message has a subdirectory manual , which in turn contains ...

I've installed audacity from the repositories. On Linux, the "help" folder should usually go in /usr/share/audacity if Audacity was installed from a repository package, or /usr/local/share/audacity if you compiled Audacity from our source code. That should give a directory ...
