I am new to the forum. I have just downloaded audacity and am trying to remove the lead vocals. However when I do, the background vocals are gone too and the music then sounds as if it is in a cave. Can someone help please or have any suggestions? Thanks, Tin

just installed 1.3.x Beta version on my Vista-computer. Open file with option "copy" does not show desired file (no sound pattern, no sound),
but when I open that file with "read" option I get sound but a diagonal pattern instead of the usual sound pattern. Can somebody help me?

You probably have the built-in mic selected as the recording device in Preferences -> Devices -> Recording. You need to record from line-in. Most laptops don't have a line-in though and you can't connect a line level signal to a mic input. You probably need an external device such as this: http://ko...

... it would be recorded. I have pluged my mixer into the mic and headphones input and nither seem to record from the mixer properly!! If anyone can help in any way I would really appreciate it because its driving me mad!! :x

... The cable is a 3 RCA Phono cable, with the yellow plug unused, to USB. I am though unable to find a line in option or equivalent in Audacity. Any help would be most appreciated.
