Recording problem
... tried hard to find a answer ,but most threads had to do with removal of distortion from the vinyl. This appears to be the other way around. Any help is much appreciated. peace

How would you achieve this effect
The song is "Toothpaste Kisses" By The Maccabees ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SJmWSWQgdM ). It's a subtle effect but notice the vocals nearly have a vintage radio or LP record quality to it. I want to try it but not sure where to start.

Which Audacity version do you have (check in Help menu -> About)? Which windows version? How do you connect the turntable to the computer? Is it an usb turntable?

I input a disc from turntable all O.K. Next time there is no sound coming into Audacity although I don't think I have altered anything.

I would like to click on Click Removal on the Menu Bar but it is all gray ghost and inaccessible. HELP states that this Menu Bar only works when Audio is selected. WHERE and WHAT is AUDIO. Thanks, Vic

There was no mention of impedance in that draft portion of the audacity manual.
I suggest you use a DI box (Direct Injection) to match the impedance levels.
