... rapidly 120 times a second. Surprise. That makes trash at all the harmonics 240, 480, etc. Let us know. There's a bunch of things you can do to help. Koz

... tape is in play mode I can turn the switch to "cassette" and hear it fine, but change it to "Line-In" nothing in Audacity. Any help?

Finally, what's the exact version of Audacity you are using? (Help menu > About Audacity) The problem was caused by one or more illegal characters in the metadata, but I think that the latest version of Audacity (1.3.13) should be able to handle that problem. ...
