Alrighty I kind of thought so...thank you for your help! Just one more question (I don't think it'll even be worth asking) but the song I'm trying to split into parts is a Drumline cadence. So there is a Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Tenor Drum, and a Cymbal. ...

... how to mute those but it didn't work, maybe I just followed the instructions wrong. I would just like to listen to specific parts...it'd be super helpful if someone could help me out!!

Logitech headset not recognized by Audacity
... the drivers for the Logitech are supposed to be in the OS. My OS says it is up todate. I can record using the internal mic on the macbook. Any help would be appreciated.

Have a go with Audacity and you should discover that your friends description makes complete sense. Here's some steps that may help: 1) Import the original track into Audacity 2) Tracks menu > Add new > Audio track 3) "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices" set the recording device ...

... take a screen shot that shows the problem bit and a second screenshot that is zoomed out to show the whole track (there's a screenshot tool in the Help menu) There's an "Upload Attachment" tab below the message composing box when you reply.
