I have just recorded something on audacity and lowered the key but the notes are all distorted and echoy, can anyone help?

To enable effect categories you need to find the line: in /src/Experimental.h
uncomment that line so that it reads:

I'm using Windows Vista. I'm fairly new to Audacity. My microphone is a simple Dynamic 5000 which plugs into the side of my computer.
