HUMBLE APOLOGIES TO ALL! I am a newbie and did not understand. My problem is not Overdub. I have just discovered the Mute and Solo buttons on the tracks and that is what I needed to play only one track at a time.

Thanks for the replies. However, they do not help. I have selected microphone-input in Preferences/Devices. Also, in Prefences/Recording, Overdub is unchecked and Transport/Overdub is unselected. But I still get overdubbing. I record on track one, ...
