usb interface

i am trying to record thru M-audio Duo usb interface. my computer keeps recording from the internal mike. i went to preferences/devices/recording and no usb option appeared. help

Ubuntu uses PulseAudio by default.

It will probably be quite similar on Ubuntu 11.04.

Switch off scrolling during recording

... i get this problem and it's pretty annoying to be honest cause i can't use the recordings. For the record i am on Windows 7 ultimate, 1Gb. Any help in the most basic language and guides would be most grateful. Many thanks.

Recording streaming audio (FAQ did not help help)

... (red capture tab appears). When I spacebar "Mix" (as suggested in the article) I get a constant tone from the speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance... Tom

I'm using a Blue Yeti USB Mic and it took me a while to get the recording input level right with out clipping.

I was listening to it again last night and I was really impressed with how the drums sound.

For recording jam sessions / rehearsals, I use a Zoom H2. Just put it as far away from the drums as possible and press the red button.
