This is the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum. Are you really using Audacity 1.2.x? (look in "Help > About Audacity" for the version number).

If you are connecting the mixer to the UFO 202, ensure that the switch on the UFO 202 is set to "Line" and not "Phono".

... so I can amplify only one channel and then edit out sections of both channels/tracks of the stereo recording together? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

If you're on Windows, you can use Windows Media to author the disk. Follow their instructions. Music CDs will not hold more than 78 minutes of music and compressing the music ahead of time doesn't help.
