Yes it is, but I would use Audacity 1.3.13 and not Audacity 1.2.x. Which version of Audacity do you have? (look in the Help menu > About Audacity.)

... I'm thinking that it has been attacked by some sort of virus. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity but that doesn't help, it still creates *.au files with the padlock icon. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing? Any suggestions for how I can cure this?
