Re: Delay while recording- please help
I'm writing this up for the Audacity wiki. All three ways use a hardware solution. No sound card options. This is one way using the Shure X2U device. The X2U manages the headphones, not the computer and the live voice comes to you with no delay. It mixes the old tracks with your live voice and does ...

retaining the A & B channels of a split track cassette
... during playback. I have an RCA connector from my tape deck, but can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this. Time is of the essence and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have downloaded the most recent beta version of Audacity (1.3.13) running on a Windows 7 machine. Thanks. laobserver

Re: High pitched interference - help removing?
Haha! Crap, I was hoping it would be fixable. Luckily I'd already asked the actress if she'd mind coming back before I started exploring my options *phew* We used a pair of studio headphones so it must have something to do with the laptop mic in the end :( I read somewhere something about 'oscillati...

Delay while recording- please help
There is another thread on this topic, but quite frankly none of it made sense. I'm recording in Audacity and want to use headphones but there is a delay and I can't possibly record vocals this way. What can I do to stop the delay? Please don't talk to me about sound card options because that will d...

Re: High pitched interference - help removing?
5000 is AM Radio, so I wasn't far off. Speakers and microphones in the same room are Not Good. If it is feedback, then it's happening at the one place where the good efficiencies of the two systems, speaker and microphone, overlap. In your case it's permanent. The question is not whether you're wear...

... or speaker, and perhaps they've cause some kind of feedback? This would be my first instinct, otherwise I really don't have any idea. If it would help I'd happily post a sample of the sound on YouTube. Sean

Re: High pitched interference - help removing?
If it's moving, the noise may be a new performer in your show. You have the same problem of people trying to get rid of Metrobus rumble. If it stayed in one place, you'd have a fighting chance. Moving, like the bus is starting up. You're dead. If it's really high, you might try the Low Pass Filter w...

High pitched interference - help removing?
Hey everyone, I've got a bit of an issue with some voiceover files I recorded onto my laptop using Audacity and was wondering if anyone could help. Basically over the vocals there is a high pitched squeal which is pretty loud and refuses to be removed via most of the tools. The sound rapidly ...
