And some computers just work. The only way to get uncompromised Audacity overdubbing without complexity and unusual settings and software is a hardware solution. They work across all platforms and computer types. Even if you get the delay down, you have to configure the machine to mix to your headph...

As far as I can tell, you are doing everything right. I tried to use the "phono" switch instead and I can get signal but it's clearly massively distorted as this is not the correct port to use. If I understand correctly - Switch to phono and everything "works" but is distorted......

Do pre-amp mixers have a phono/line switch??
