Anyone else have this issue?
... up but I don't know what I've done to do it. Literally hours of monkeying around and somehow it finally post's up. What am I missing here? Any help here would be greatly, greatly appreciated. ;)

Audacity 1.3.13 crashes opening .aiff files
... each time I tried to open an .aiff file. I have shut down and restarted my computer (Intel Mac Mini) several times, searched the internet for help with no success, and finally trashed Audacity and downloaded it again but am still experiencing the crashes. Any help you can give would be appreciated--especially ...

There is no audio visible in the meters to right of "Stereo Mix" and "Speakers".
Right-click over the "Stereo Mix" > Properties, click "Levels" and turn the slider up. Do the same for "Speakers". Make sure neither is muted.

Please show us images of the "Playback" and "Recording" tabs of "Sound" in the Windows Control Panel. You can use "Upload attachment" underneath the message "Preview/Submit" buttons to do that. If you can't hear the audio, stereo mix won't record it....

It is set to record from Stereo Mix. It was fine Wednesday but tried it again today and it's picking up nothing.
I just can't work out what it is.

... way, there is an effect in the Effect menu "Vocal Remover (for center-panned vocals)" that does the whole procedure in one go (see the Help included in the effect for more details).

... Effect > Repeat it to be longer than you need, or add silence to the end of tracks so they are longer than you need. I would do that as it would help prove if what you are seeing is really the problem. Gale
