... the version of 1.3. that you have? If not you should update from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ To check the current version, look in Help > About Audacity) In Audacity 1.3.13, go to "Edit > Preferences > Devices". What options are set and what are the other available options?

Thanks for your help. I checked out the document--maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything that specifically addressed my issue.

... sample rate. If you're currently using 44100 Hz, try setting the default sample rate to 48000 (Edit > Preferences > Quality) Gale may be able to help you with the memory dump.

Scripting Noise Removal

... it is quite easy to use GUI scripting to manipulate the Noise Removal effect. (To use GUI scripting, it has to be enabled in System Prefs. Check Help on how to enable it and how to start UI scripting. Try these articles http://www.macosxautomation.com/applescript/uiscripting/ http://www.mactech.com/articles/mactech/Vol.21/21.06/UserInterfaceScripting/index.html ...

You may need to fix some driver that SB Live! is trying to interact with. If you have reinstalled XP it is very likely NOT in the state it was in when the SB Liv...

Re: recording out-of-sync with playback (v1.2.4)

Steve, duh! Now that I can see and work on the voice track, separate from the accompaniment tracks, I can change the tempo of either to match the other. I tried that, and with a little trial-and-error, I got the two in sync.
