It won't come back even if you use the Time Shift Tool -- two sideways black arrows?

Re: Need help with deleting part of track
You can get this effect if you tell Audacity to only cut or process on zero-crossing boundaries. If there's audio "sticking out" to the left of the selected edit point, it can be pushed earlier than time zero.
I can't find that preference setting, but I'm still looking. Koz

Loud buzz when USB Audio Mixer connected
... main reason I bought the laptop, so if it won't do this right, I have to return it. Is there a fix? Should I replace the laptop with a Mac? Your help is greatly appreciated!! Gordon

Re: making a demo of my band, need advice
... we're only going to use 30 to 45 seconds of each song on the medley. Kind of a rapid fire "best of" collection thanks for all your help guys! The vocals are going to be recorded one at a time, so I'll have as much control over them as I need

It is called "sibilance"
... or your subject may need vocal training to eliminate it. Depends on which one of the two is the real problem. Maybe there's software that can help afterwards, once you search on the right term.

Re: Single channel choice crashes! Help!
I think typically a SoundBlaster would offer the left channel if the recording software asked for mono from a stereo stream.
I see you did not download audacity.txt. Can you try, that and look at Audacity's compatibility mode?

I agree, it sounds extremely unlikely.polkat wrote: Yea! Doesn't sound likely, but I thought I'd ask.
I think we've gone as far as we can without using a debugging tool (as suggested by Gale).

Re: WAV file extension changes to "file", not WAV
I went to the WAV files that just said file and typed .WAV for the extension and they changed right away and said WAV on them and had the blue music note like they're supposed to. Thanks for all the help.

Re: No playback sound! Need Help please.
Yes I'm recording from a USB device. My sound card is a Realtek. I cannot hear the device whether I'm recording or just trying to play it back off of Audacity, but like I noted before I can record off the device and once export it as a WAV file can play it back on Media Player.
