If you downloaded audacity 1.3.13 (latest beta) from audacity website, then it should include the manual. On Audacity if you go to the Help menu and select "Manual" doesn't it open the manual in your web browser?

Hi I am using Audacity Beta 1.3 ( unicode ) currently. My operating system is Windows XP home, SP3. I have spent an hour trying to download the help manual to Audacity and make it an integral part of the programme. However, the zipped help manual does not show up under the HELP drop down menu ...

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. You said "there is slight sound decrease in the middle and then the mix picks up again". I assumed you meant the overall loudness goes down. That's what you could use the envelope tool to adjust. You don't use the envelope tool to adjus...

after the wave peaks have been tweaked with the points, do you apply compression and then use the limiter plugin? sorry if this is a silly question..
