Selectively adjusting volume (gain?)
... increase the volume on the quieter portions so that all of the volumes are uniform? I am not very familiar with generic terms in audio, so please help me by telling me which menu I need to go to and what term to look for. Thanks a lot.

Re: Help before I send files to be mastered
In this day and age why try to distribute your music on CD ? [ Isn’t that a form of vanity publishing , (a loss-making venture) }. Stick your music on the internet for download, you’ll reach a larger market and the overheads negligible compared with the cost of having 100’s of CDs made. [ It will st...

Re: On using Audacity for podcasting
Thanks for all the help, billw58, kozikowski, & steve. I'm learning stuff I never even knew existed, which is a good thing I guess. I never realized my recordings might not work in some .mp3 players, though fortunately, that sounds ...

Confused about getting from iTunes to Audacity
Hi, hoping for a quick response since I'm in the middle of attempting this. You may just call me "N. Ept." I've successfully imported from a CD into iTunes, but am confused about how to get tracks from iTunes into an Audacity project to start editing. Any help out there for us dummies?

Re: Tone control plug-in
... be amplified back down to 0 dB without damage. If there were just the bass and treble controls then I don't think there would be any need for the help screens either (it works just the same as bass and treble on a domestic amplifier).

Adding Silence
... a second. I found a "Silence" option in the "Generate" menu but doesn't seem to have an option for fractions of a second? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

... (or different cables?) to use. I have garage Band but, as far I've understood, it works just if you transfer while you are playing. Thanks for the help, Federica
