I've been reading about the sync-lock tool, but it is not showing in any of my menus or toolbars. Help please!

... sounds "too far" I normally amplify the sound and it does improve the recording, but I am wondering if there is a better tool to try to help this deficiency? I will greatly appreciate your feedback. Mike C.

Renaming the file won't help: it's the embedded ID3 tags that appear to be causing the problem. I've never seen that "Exact Audio Copy (Secure Mode)" notation before.

... but I never went into its volume control. The line-in volume was set to mute. So I turned that on and now it works perfectly. Thanks again for the help.

I have toggled software playback on and off and had no success. I'm just connected to the mic jack using a cheap adapter. Is there a better cheap way? I just want a very inexpensive way to demo. Is it possible its just my laptop? Its five years old but I just reformatted it.
