How can I merge an AC audio feed and a headset cable into one stereo male jack going into a DC device? I believe that is the issue I'm dealing with. For more info the post listed below may help. Thanks!

... Preferences can see it, but the rest of the machine can't, then you may have a software or system problem. As I read your posting I couldn't help wondering what else you're doing. Are you going through a hub? Audio devices hate that. Do you have any other USB devices or other audio programs ...

Step one is stop using Audacity 1.2. It's very old and unsupported on newer computers.

For some reason, after about a minute of recording, everytime, the sound becomes distorted.

Not sure why. Anybody have similar experience? perhaps a solution?
