Sure. It's Audacity 1.3.14-beta (Unicode). That is certainly new enough not to be an upgrade problem. If Steve's suggestion does not help, I would next think about drivers and OS updates. I would also suggest you make sure that (in the same Transport menu) Overdub & Software Playthrough ...

Ok, it's getting clearer. Now I need to know how to create segments on one MP3. So that "next" goes to the next segment. Can you tell me how to do that?

Hmmmm ... I have that exact build of Audacity on my 10.7.2 iMac with the same directory structure and I can access the local copy of the manual.

What are the permissions on the Audacity directory?
